Education Based Ganges-Sarasvati Civilization
Today’s (20May15) Nithya Satsang on Kathopanishad from Varanasi, Paramahamsa Nithyananda expands on Shanti Mantra, peace invocation that narrates how the vedic education flourished in India. In any civilization, where there is peace, there is research and development. The Ganges-Sarasvati civilization or Hindu civilization provided natural protection allowing so much R&D, knowledge and spreading into every science, forming the greatest education system. He points to the truth that modern science will at least take 10,000 years to catch up with the Indian education system which our Vedic ancestors respected and aspired for as the center of life, lifestyle. Revealing the meaning of Shanti Mantra—May our study, learning together, illumine us both with higher intelligence—the space which every educator, teacher needs to be in; he shows how the Guru never claims superiority over the student, and brings completion to the student only by his authenticity not by authority. Shanti Mantra, Kathopanishad auṁ saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai | tejasvi nāvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai || auṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ||
